Overview

Whether your engagement program is new or builds on an existing program, how will you determine whether certain elements or the full program are effective? Have you determined and established key performance indicators (KPIs) or metrics? Do you know what “success” will look like?

Measuring the effectiveness of an engagement program is a central step in making sure you’ve identified your stakeholders, understand and have confirmed their concerns, interests, and information, and have executed your program in a manner that encourages meaningful and equitable involvement in the engagement process. The RP 1185 Maturity Model can also help demonstrate the current implementation level of an operator’s engagement program and inform next steps.

In this section, we’ll provide guidance on the requirements for operators to monitor, evaluate, and adjust their stakeholder engagement programs.
